OEM Packaging for Smart Locks: From Artwork to Sealed Carton

Buyer Guide · Published 2026-10-06

A private-label smart lock order is two products: the lock and the packaging. The lock can be adjusted between runs. A printed colour box cannot.

What to send

  • Logo in a vector format, not a screenshot or a photograph.
  • Existing box artwork if you have it, or the layout you want.
  • The manual language or languages required.
  • Barcode and retailer requirements if the product goes into a store.
  • Any compliance text that has to appear on the box.

The approval sequence

  1. Specification confirmed in writing, including mortise, finish and quantity.
  2. Digital proof of the box and the manual sent for approval.
  3. Sample produced and, where the packaging is new, a packed sample sent.
  4. Written approval of the proof and the sample before anything is printed.
  5. Production with photos at the packing stage.
  6. Packing and shipping-mark photos sent before dispatch.

The MOQ question

The lock MOQ is one carton for padlocks and thirty sets for door locks, but printed packaging usually sets a higher practical minimum because of the print run. Tell us the quantity you want and we will say what is achievable at that level rather than quoting a number you cannot use.

Send your artwork and get a packaging proof

We will review the artwork, confirm the print minimum for your quantity and send a digital proof before anything is produced.
